i was wondering if there were any gays in amman/jordan, im looking to meet someone because to be honest i haven't really met one in jordan. please reply :)

Hi, I never was in jordan, but I read many times in internet that there must be a bookstore/cafe in the oldtown of Amman where gays are welcome and meet (Books[AT]Cafe). You find reports about jordan and other worldwide countries in www.globalgayz.com
Its an very interesting site with reports about interviews with local gays.

Yes, I know there are gays in Jordan because I have a friend from TX who is gay and is from Jordan. He goes back home quite often.

Bistallion is spot on with his advice of where to start. Try books[AT]cafe, it's a good place to start. Many of the guys who frequent the Jordanian 'gay' scene go here. I have been many times and it is popular with all kinds of people. It's a great location too.!! I met a really good friend here and have kept in contact with him for years now.

On the whole, the Jordanians are an open and friendly society with a genuine compassion for each other. Jordan is one of those places that will get under your skin. The more you visit, the more of it you want....that includes the men....lol.

Jordan's gay community is a huge one, check out our own local gay magazine in Amman, (Ask me for the link and I'll hand it out), you'll find loads of info!

Also, as others have said, Books[AT]Cafe is the place to be! There were to gay bars but they closed (because of the financial status of the owner, government doesn't interfere with such things. As a matter of fact, the past governor of Amman said some anti-gay comments and he was kicked out of his desk).
