I thought it would be nice to start a thread about gay and gayfriendly bars & clubs in Morocco. I'd like to ask everyone who knows a gay bar or club in Morocco to post in this thread. Please post the name of the bar/club, the address if you know it and as much as info as you have about the place. In other words, please try to write a review about the bar/club. I know that there aren't a LOT of gay bars and clubs, and that they are never labeled as a gay establishment in the first place, but that's just another good reason to try to make this list as complete as possible and make the places easier to find for the ones that aren't familiair with Morocco :)

I think the information will be much appreciated by gay tourists travelling to Morocco (like myself, lol)

Let me be the first one to start. I'll reply to this post and I'll add my 'review' of the only 'gay' club that I actually remember by name.

If you are a clubber you should have a step to Le Diamant Noir. Le Diamant Noir is a gay-friendly dance club in the town center of Marrakesh, located behind the Marrakech hotel. It draws a very diverse crowd. You will find the local young, wealthy, and beautiful mixed together with business travellers and other foreigners. Drinks are generally pricey and can be enjoyed from balconies overlooking the dance floor. The music is as diverse as the crowd: from dance to Arabic pop.

I had great times at Le Diamant Noir. I hope to be visiting Marrakesh soon again, and Le Diamant Noir is defenately one of the reasons why I want to go back to Marrakesh :)

I have a question about the Diamant Noir. Is it worth visiting outside the weekend? I arrive in Tangier on a Thursday and am trying to decide the best place to spend Friday and Saturday nights. I am going to Marrakesh, Fez and back to Tangier. Thanks

I want to go to this club. I want to move to Morocco and live there, and this club would be frequented by me constantly while on my stay there.

I just got back from Marrakech, and I visited Le Diamant Noir on a Sunday night. I guess had some expectations after reading from several sources that it is "gay-friendly" (Lonely Planet and Spartacus). Well I found it very generic and uninteresting. The decor was ok, but the clientele and ambience were very hetero, and the place is crawling with call girls. Then again, this was a Sunday night. That said, I did manage to hook up with a very beautiful Moroccan guy, so I can't complain. But I think I was extremely lucky because we were probably the only two gay people in the entire club.

I guess my point is if you're going to Marrakech, might as well go to one of the really good clubs with good music even if it's not necessarily "gay" because you may have a better time anyway. I hear Le Theatro is good. Also Pacha and Afric'n Chic.

Again maybe Le Diamant Noir is different on a Friday or Saturday, but actually I read it is more "gay-friendly" on weeknights and less on weekends. But that is according to Lonely Planet which is always wrong. It is also listed in Spartacus as "NG" (not gay).

I did not make it to Cafe des Negociants or L'Atlas cafe although I wish I had.
