Istanbul this week

Hi everybody,

I'm flying to Istanbul tonight to stay for a few days. Hopefully staying in the Taksim area. Does anybody have suggestions on the best places to go (cafes, clubs/bars, hammam/sauna), especially mid-week? Also, what is the best way to meet Turkish guys?

Hi vagabond,

I will be in Iran in April 2009 and heading to to Istanbul (and touring through Turkey) in May then on to Jordan. I was wondering if you received any private responses about what to see and do in Istanbul. Did you have a good time? I am interested in visiting a hammam while there and was wondering if you found a good one. Also, any other tips would be greatly appreciated. BTW, have you been to either Iran or Jordan and if so, any suggestions there would be greatly appreciated.

I haven t been there yet but in general when you travel to arab countries use causion and be discreet; Because of religion and tradition, it is very hard to find gay men in the street so use eye contact and be carfull. Although you will fing a lot of arab men who love gay sex, this lifestyle is not promoted
