Beware - there are con men in Cairo & perhaps elsewhere who will ask for money to book a room for themselves in your hotel, then disappear with it. In general, in Egypt &, probably, in other Arab countries local people are not allowed to book hotel rooms where they live [as revealed by their ID cards that they are required to produce when booking].
Opportunities may arise if you stay in cheap hotels used by Arabs visiting from other cities but the staff will generally try to accommodate western men away from [ie on another floor] Arab men [who, for economy, will usually be sharing their rooms] & will often be on the lookout for any mixing. I was caught out when I visited an Arab man in his room in Luxor - fortunately we were only talking - but the staff had a big argument with the Arab who was pressured to leave. I was more successful, by being very discreet, in some other hotels. Staff also will sometimes flirt &, occasionally, be interested in more - again, be very discreet - everyone is watching everyone else in these places!

Hey - sharing a tent is really horny & hot [even if the weather isn't!].
However, security is a problem in many countries & a 'campsite' [pre-erected tents & mud huts] I saw recently in Morocco was plagued by mosquitoes & more expensive than my cheap hotel room! Unsurprisingly no one was staying there though I did have a nice session with the 'manager'!

In Turkey, actually many things are possible. If you are in such big cities like Istanbul, Ankara, İzmir you can even kiss your man in public if u r both cool with idea of people just staring at you. Taking a guy to hotel room is not advisable though if u r doing a one night. Like everywhere in the world there are thieves, etc. Better use a friend's apartment, if you dont have a friend, make one:D. (like me)
Hotel receptionists never ask you gender related questions if it's not an Islamic resort hotel:p... Anyway, all you have to do is give both of your ID cards to the desk to spend a night with your same sex partner, you wont be disturbed at all. Besides it's the safe to give the desk your partner's ID too because if you dont know him well, you could at least have his identity info at hand if something bad happens.
Turkey can not be considered as an Islamic country despite the latest government is a bit more right-wing type. We dont have such Islamic laws here. Not yet:D hopefully.

Phoenixtr, you are totally right and to all who doubt about that I can really confirm what Phoenixtr is telling you: Turkey is not Iran and western Turkey is nearly as liberal as Europe. I really can recommend to gay couples to visit this beautiful country and enjoy the friendliness of its people.
So its really no problem for two men to share a hotelroom.
But my question was a bit different: If I visit Turkey, stay in a normal tourist hotel and meet a nice turkish guy during my stay: Is it possible to bring him to my hotel room? I think NO but I am not 100% sure.
