Gay Muslim Movie - A Jihad for Love

I was at a gay BEAR event in new york city's Gay & Lesbian Center it was called a Fur Ball and I enjoyed myself despite my disability and being on a wheel-chair. What I would like to share was information about a gay Muslim documentary that's been out called "A Jihad for Love" and I wanted to share it with you.

Hey, this is really moving... it makes my heart sink just by watching the trailer... :eek:

It goes to show that besides the little problems u are facing in your own community, there might be others having to deal with greater worser issues in other parts of the world.

I have never seen such a touching movie as ‘A Jihad for Love’ before. I met a few of the ‘actors’ in the movie. I will never forget where they were going through. They have reasons to be proud, because they are telling the world what happened with them. The world has reasons to be ashamed that they do these bad things to people for only being the person that they are…..

I watched the movie myself.

I thought it was only OK since I had expected a lot more in terms of showing the difficult life that LGBT Muslims live. Most of the stories were of people who have managed to work things out for themselves, however the vast majority are not there yet.

I did appreciate the main message though: that so many LGBT Muslim people put there are holding onto both their religion and their sexuality although they do come as contradictory.

Finally, Jihad for Love, came to my city. The gay imam from South Africa was most interesting, especially hearing some of the negative attitudes his children had picked up from others and the Muslim social workers (I think) who invited him to speak to them.

This movie made me cry, and sad....NOBODY can be judge on this earth!!I always says to people if they judge gay---if u have a sex with a girl without marriage u r in the sin as well--dont judge anyone....

I agree with you europeanboy3, nobody has the right to judge. There is only one who'll judge. Shame to all people that think that they can be the judges. Shame to all people that don't respect human rights to others. Human rights are for everyone!
