My journal started in 19th of march 2007 and I intended to celebrate this day yet I had a lot of exams that made me delay this entry to whenever possible and I think that midnight is suitable to remember few things.
It has been one year since I started this journal to air out some of my problems and celebrate the important days of my life and to speak out my mind in a free internet so far away from rules and problems of opinions in my beloved Egypt. I could never forget her when I started my journal so I called it Egyptian stories because I have always thought of myself as an ordinary Egyptian story, as a blink in the history of Egypt or a drop in its ocean, I made the journal from and for Egypt.
For one year I wrote more than 80 entries mostly about politics, economy and history of Egypt and some about my life. my journal was a real help with my complicated gay life of an Arabic and Muslim guy who was getting more and more frustrated by the loneliness he suffers from, from being unable to tell his closest friends about his attitude. also it was the place of several dreams for me and my country starting by democracy and well being passing by human rights and peace to reach respect of humanity .
Full year of challenging laws in Egypt, a full year of opposition to injustice and full year of dreams of a humanity paradise, a long full year that says that maybe I am the most crazy maniac and dreamy person I have ever seen!
I was getting more wise, strong and mature with time on my journal page, yet my wisdom increased my dreams in a beautiful future, I got more certain with every day that the world is more beautiful and that as much as rude and cold human kind can get yet humanity always remains a good thing in general.
In a full year I had so much love, laughs and tears on this page, expressed my anger and my hopes, talked about every case from my own prospect and was always myself without the slightest difference, nothing hidden at all.
My friends you all helped me so much, with you I dreamed, argued and I even quarreled, learned new facts and seen places that I would have never seen before, heard a different kinds of music, seen different languages, cultures and religions melt in one simple human nature, celebrated achievements and cried on your shoulders, was encouraged to do more and was congratulated with every success
simply nothing here would have been done without you, all of you
where ever you are, and whatever you do, I always will love you and wish you the best with everything.
walking through a gateway to another year of Egyptian stories, I always will look behind to learn lessons of years and take more risks in the future knowing that life is too short to waste
and for you, my most beloved thing in the world, my home, my mother and daughter and sister and best friend of all time, for you my Egypt I would wish the best and work for the best. with everything I do I know for sure that I love you, I loved you in the past, I love you now and I will love you forever.
every thing good I did was because of your inspiration and everything good I will make is because I do it for you, every wish I make is for you, in every prayer I will remember you, I will never let go you
never let go your good future even if I had to criticise every single incident and challenge every wrongful law, because I know for sure and believe that all of us will end one day and you my love will always be immortal
A new year of my Egyptian stories has started, excited to witness new days yet so grateful for the previous days I have witnessed.
