I noticed that there ain't much chit chatting goin' on on this board yet, so let me be the first (or one of the first) to start :)

What did you today?

This was my day:

It's Sunday night now and I had the day off. I came across this site yesterday and I decided to register this morning and make myself familiair with this site. At first I found it a bit overwhelming, because of all the account and profile options and settings and all the possibilities on this site and the rules we need to follow, but after some browsing and using my common sense I think I pretty much get the picture. I gotta say that I'm impressed: it's a great site with many great features! I'd like to say 'thanks' to the folks who are running this site. I hope that in time more and more people will sign up for this site, the more the merrier. It's free so why wouldn't they!? I'm going to recommend this site to my friends and anyone who might be interested. I myself will defenately be coming back here frequently!!!

I made a note on a Post-It: 'make good pictures for the gallery'. Unfortunately the pics I have of myself on my pc are too small for the gallery. I should have the larger versions of the pics that I use in my profile and avatar somewhere on a disc, but god knows where it is.. I'll make new ones soon and submit them to the gallery as soon as I have them.

This afternoon I went to the city centre of The Hague with a friend, bought a new pair of Nudie jeans and a Nudie shirt (love Nudie! so comfortable..). My friend got himself a new cellphone. It was very crowded in the city centre so we had a coffee and then got the hell out of there :) We both hate big crowds.. There were many tourists in the city, I've never seen so many tourists in this city before. I wonder why they come here in the first place, lol. Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely city and I love living in it but I don't see how it can be so special for tourists. Perhaps that's just because I'm used to this place.

Anyway, I got home and couldn't resist to log in to this site again. I received a PM from a nice arab boy who had read my intro post and we chatted a bit. He seems very nice, not living in Holland unfortunately.

I watched an episode of Six Feet Under on the tele, had some (late) dinner, and now I'm here again :D

I just realised that I didn't even watch the news today.. I have no idea what happened in the world today. Do you?

How was your day? I hope it was as nice as mine :)

Thanks for your kind words and thanks for recommending this site to your friends ButtyBoy. It's much appreciated.

I see that you have found the other sites too and I also see that we are living in the same city (can't talk Dutch to you though in this forum, only in the Dutch General Chit Chat Forum). I do (still) see what this city has to offer to tourists though. It's funny how people usually do a lot of sightseeing in other cities, but hardly ever in their own city.. :)

After I read your post I realised (because of the style of your post) that I can announce that this site will have another great feature added, probable before the end of the year. The new feature is: blogs! Each user on this site will be able to have his own blog on this site. Blogs will be linked to profiles, etc. Personally I'm quite excited about this future feature.

My day was good and I haven't watched any news yet either, hehe.

I have one request. I noticed that you placed a personal ad in Dutch. It is okay to post personal ads in Dutch (English and Dutch are the only allowed languages as a matter of fact), but could you please provide us with an English translation too? In the same ad I mean. So whenever you post a personal ad in Dutch, please also include the English translation. Most of our users speak English only so it would be nice if they would be able to understand what you're saying. Thanks in advance!

It sounds like you had a nice day too :)

What is broud? Or is 'arabic and broud' a title?

And what is Wendys?

I'm at work today, but I can't help but checking my e-mail every now and then to see if I have replies from this site :)

I never heard of 'Arabic and Broud' before, and neither from Wendy's.. I do know MacDonalds and Burger Queen. KING.. Sorry :D

What do you study?

Today I went to the photoshop after work because I needed passport photos. I'm going abroad next month and my passport expired (I kept postponing to have it renewed, lazy me..). The demands of the way that passport photos need to look have become very strict since 2006, because of terrorism prevention. Lots of passport photos are being rejected. On this link (the text is in dutch but you can see the photos, the ones at te left are accepted (green V-icon), the ones at the right are rejected (red X-icon)): http://www.paspoortinformatie.nl/download.aspx?type=document&file=PasfotoInfoA4DEF.pdf

When the governement came up with these new passport photo demands many non-Muslim folks overhere were pissed because Muslim women could just wear headscarves on the photos (is headscarves the right word in english?). Folks that were angry because of that are just plain stupid if you ask me. These are people who'll just grab any chance to discriminate whenever they can.

I'm going to the city hall tomorrow to have my passport renewed. I just hope that they'll aprove my photos.. My mum went to have her passport renewed 2 months ago and they rejected her photos (they looked fine to me..). She had to go back to the photographer.. It's so Dutch to try to prevent something when it has already happened, lol.

Where are you lebnani? It's so quit without you on this site, hehe. You seem to be the only one replying in this thread. I guess noone else wants to share his day-to-day life, eheheh.

Well, I went to the city hall yesterday, I had to wait 2,5 hours, but my photos weren't rejected. I can pick up my passport next week so I'll have it on time (before I go on my trip).

Speaking about my trip, I will be taking my laptop with me although I won't have an internet connection overthere. That's a bit of a problem, lol, so I tried searching for a solution. I read in some forum about some software named Easy Wifi Radar. It searches for unprotected wireless internet connections in surrounding areas. In other words, if there's living someone close by who has an open wireless internet connection, the software will find it, and it'll automatically connect to the internet through that connection (I'm not sure if I'm explaining it a 100% right, as much as I like computers I'm not that much of a wizkid). Anyway, I tried to use the software on my laptop in my house, and guess what, it worked right away! I was on the internet using someone elses internet connection.. I asked myself for a moment if it is legal to do, so I did some searching, and it turns out to be totally legal. The question is of course if I will also be able to use the program during my trip.. I will be able to use the program obviously, but will it be able to connect? I'm just gonna have to wait to find out.. If not, fuck it, I'll go to some internet cafe :)

The program can be downloaded from here (http://www.makayama.com/easywifiradar.html) by the way, in case someone is interested. It's free. It's funny how you sometimes not know that certain things exist at all, when they are just out there..
