What's ur favorite (arab) gay movie?

Hey guys! I was just browsing youtube when I found a scene from the movie Yossi & Jagger. It's a love story between two Israeli soldiers stationed on the Lebanese border. It's a nice movie, I think I even have the dvd (I have many gay movies on dvd..). I'm a huge fan of gay cinema and international and arthouse movies. I know that there are some movies with an Arab gay theme like Drole De Felix for example. For some reason that's the only one I can think of right now.

My question to all of you: what's your favorite (arab) gay movie? By sharing this information we just might all learn about some wonderful movies that we didn't know yet. Some movies are just too beautiful to not have seen.. I've seen a lot of gay movies (gay cinema I mean, not porn! LOL) but I need some time to decide which of those movies is my favorite. Once I figured it out I will get back here.

I've never watched any arab gay-themed movie before and frankly, this one (from the look of this short video clip) definitely seems a good one!

By far, I've watched less than 10 gay movies, mostly by Hong Kong directors.
My favorite one is called "Lan Yu" directed by Stanley Kwan (he is gay too).
Its based on a short story by a Chinese writer posted on the internet by chance.

Nice heart-warming story, very touching movie and well-shot in Beijing.
I actually shed some tears throughout the show... :rolleyes:

I hated Brokeback Mountain. That movie got so much media attention but personally I thought it was just another piece of Hollywood crap. It may have been a nice movie if it would have been released 20 years sooner, lol.

Well.. when I flirts watch Yossi & Jagger, my boyfriend (now, ex-boyfriend) kick me, and I was with my good female friend who was fascinated from this movie. Think that movie throughly deserves it ;)

Well... Brokeback Mountain wasn't that bad either, just that its more towards commercially-inclined I think... it just didn't strike me as hard as the other gay movies I've watched.

Brokeback Mountain as a gay-themed movie is considerably mild... its just purely over-hyped Hollywood entertainment that's all.
Its just one of those movies where u simply watch because everyone's talking about it... then easily forgotten.

I've to admit... I watched Brokeback Mountain because of that hype, I just gotta watch it, and true enough, it simply slipped out of my memory once I stepped out of the cinema.

I agree Lebanon by Raging Stallions is very hot!!!! There is another movie by Raging Stallions that is hot too! It is called Mirage....Check it out... it has a story line to follow.......there are a lot of handsome Arab men as well as non-Arab men..... But I have to say Lebanon is my favorite!

Thanks for sharing. I haven't seen Latter Days I think so I'm gonna try to see it although I'm not quite sure yet how/where. I think I saw Mambo Italiano a couple of years back, I'm not really sure but the story sounds familair to me.

I was looking through my movie collection and came across an excellent movie...it is called "Bent". This story provides a tragic picture of the treatment of those deemed unworthy in the eyes of the Nazi regime -- not because they are Jewish, but because they are gay. If anyone's ever wondered where the pink triangle became a symbol of the gay community, you will see that this is where it came from. This was a Very well made movie and finally captures a new side of the Nazi terrorism -- the plight of gays. This film was based on the play written by Sherman Martin, and was made in 1997. If you have seen it I would be interested in knowing what you thought. If you have not it is a must see.

Yes there is...!!!!

"The Bubble"...by the same director (or producer?) as Yossi and Yaeger is pretty amazing.

"The Yacoubian Building"...while not being an explicitly Gay movie does feature a main character who is gay, and this character is treated in a very dignified and humane way...a big step for a film written by an Egyptian and produced in Egypt. (suggestion...read the book first...it is really good)
