Vacation in Oman ???

Hi guys !! I am planning to visit Oman , Muscat in the beginning of December . Can someone advise if it is good destination for Vacation . I just want to have a rest , to sweem , and gave a good food . How is weather there in December ???
I have no idea if it is good or not .... How about to find a man for sex there . I know it is forbidden as everywhere in Moslim country but still if I have a chance ?????

i was told that in oman, being gay is more or less accepted / safe ... since it happens that 'people in high places' are more or less openly gay or at least it is known their preference for young men ...

Oman is one of the more "liberal" of countrys in the Gulf region and although the usual precautions should take place (ie make sure you have the right vibes) you will have fun. Esp among the younger guys who will have fun with guys although they aren't gay per se (more bi if you think along European lines). I avoid the Intercon area because cops do patrol there. Gyms are where I meet guys and its no hassle at all. The guys here are just beautiful to look at, which is why I live here :)

PS: Its widely rumoured that the Sultan is gay, or bi at the very least - I have heard this from VERY MANY people here, but who cares... he is a good guy and has done great things for this country.

I think the best place to stay is the Chedi but its a little outta the way!

If you don't want to travel far to find some action, the Intercontinental is about the best as there is a cruisy bit right out front of the hotel by the beach. If you stay at the Chedi, be prepared to pay higher rates for your room.

I am just wondering which one of the various Arab countries is most gay-friendly. I presume that it isn't KSA ... hahaha But, seriously, are there places where the people, though they may disapprove of the gay lifestyle, live and let live and don't hassle gays? And I am not just talking about accepting two Western gays who are a tourist couple but if the gay couple is made up of an Arab and a Westerner.

I lived in Oman for about 1 year. The people are great ... very relaxed about their Islam BUT they are very conservative ... there is plenty of "action" but it is all secretive and hush hush ... and it is very much BETWEEN Omani male and Omani male. For Westerners it is much safer, and saner, having sexual encounters with young male Filippinos, Nepalis, Sri Lankans, Indians. I would not [repeat NOT] go to any Middle Eastern country for a gay sex holiday expecting to easily and safely find a LOCAL partner.
